COURSE OUTLINE

Strategic sourcing can be understood as the systematic and fact‐based approach for optimizing an organization‘s supply base and improving the overall value proposition. This requests to be familiar with key activities such as the development of sourcing strategies, the methods and tools for supplier management or also for risk management. At the end of this course attendees will have learned the following
  • How to determine the value contribution to the company in various ways
  • How to define effective sourcing strategies and how to tackle the typical challenges in this process
  • How to manage the suppliers and the supply base in an effective and an efficient manner
  • How and where to include the TCO (total cost of ownership perspective) in the strategic sourcing activities
  • How to deal with the requests from internal clients and how to increase the reputation of purchasing within the company
